HOURS: 32-40 Hours per Week (Hybrid – 2 days/week at HQ Office)

LOCATION: The Raw Carrot Headquarters in Paris, Ontario

ABOUT US: The Raw Carrot is a social enterprise empowering people who face barriers to traditional employment to secure their own livelihoods through the dignity of work. We employ individuals on social assistance to cook gourmet, handcrafted food products. The product sales revenue pays for the staff salaries and overall business expenses. The Raw Carrot operates with a “Social License” business model where The Raw Carrot HQ (HQ) partners with non-profits and churches to start a licensed Raw Carrot Site (Site). We currently have five Sites across Ontario employing 40+ individuals with barriers. Our vision is for all people in Canada to be meaningfully employed with a goal grow to 25 sites across Canada by 2030 employing 150+ staff. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a part-time or full-time Director of Operations & Site Training to join our team and oversee all operations of The Raw Carrot social enterprise. This individual will be responsible for updating, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs for licensed Raw Carrot sites (“franchisees”), as well as managing the operational aspects of site launches, ongoing site management and the operational growth of the Raw Carrot Headquarters.  

This role ensures that sites are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to operate their locations successfully and achieve The Raw Carrot’s mission while maintaining the brand’s standards, policies, and procedures. You will work closely with the Executive Director to align strategy, objectives, and social impact. A core focus of this role is to design, document, and optimize repeatable processes that ensure consistent quality and scalable growth across all sites.

This person will be deeply process-oriented, with a strong ability to translate vision into structure.  This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days/week at the HQ office in Paris. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

HQ Operations Leadership:  

  • Lead the organizational and financial strategy of The Raw Carrot. 
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for The Raw Carrot HQ. 
  • Analyze sales, production, and expense data to inform product development, marketing, and pricing decisions.  
  • Lead revenue generation for The Raw Carrot HQ through launching new sites while supporting business Development and Sales 
  • Evaluate “social franchise” business model and continuously develop for organizational growth. 
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve standardized workflows, operational procedures, and training systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across all Raw Carrot sites. 
  • Implement and manage systems that support scalability, including process automation, software adoption, and digital infrastructure. 
  • Establish and maintain clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for all critical HQ and site operations, ensuring they are accessible, up-to-date, and effectively used. 


Site Training & Launch 

  • Work with Business Development Manager to identify and engage with potential new site partners. 
  • Assess the feasibility and fit of potential new site partners. 
  • Negotiate partnership contracts, fee structures, and manage expectations with committed new site partners. 
  • Oversee the site launch process including online and in-person training components, ensuring that new sites are launched according to The Raw Carrot’s standards, mission, and values. 
  • Manage the site launch budgets. 
  • Implement and manage The Raw Carrot online training curriculum for new and existing sites. 
  • Create and update new training manuals, guides, processes, and other materials as needed.


Site Management & Support:
 

  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to sites during training and after launch. 
  • Address site queries and concerns promptly. 
  • Work with each Site Manager to develop and maintain operational procedures and policies to ensure efficiency, safety, and production quality at each site. 
  • Manage the ongoing purchase and sale of grocery, kitchen, packaging, and marketing supplies to sites, including maintaining supplier relations and the supply inventory. 
  • Liaise and maintain regular communication with all Site Managers, including monthly meetings and in-person site visits. 
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with The Raw Carrot standards and policies. 
  • Develop and monitor KPIs (sales, financials, impact metrics) and data tracking tools and processes for each site. 
  • Collaborate with the Product Development and Marketing Managers to integrate feedback and roll out new product launches and marketing campaigns. 
  • Plan and execute an annual retreat for all Site Managers with support from the HQ team. 
  • Regularly connect with site partners to maintain alignment with The Raw Carrot mission and update partnership contracts as needed. 


REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Training Director, Operations Manager, or similar role in a corporate environment. 
  • Skills: 
    • In-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods (workshops, simulations, e-learning, coaching) and operational management. 
    • Hands-on experience with project management and budgeting. 
    • Technical Proficiency in tools like Asana, SharePoint, Salesforce, or other operational platforms is an asset. 
    • Strong process-thinking mindset: able to visualize and document step-by-step systems that drive consistency and quality. 
    • Experience creating and improving operational workflows: ideally in a social enterprise, nonprofit, or franchise-style model. 
    • Proven ability to build and implement scalable infrastructure (systems, SOPs, toolkits) across multiple locations. 
  • Education: BSc/MSc in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a relevant field. 
  • Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Because this role works closely with church-based site partners and represents a faith-rooted organization, an active Christian faith and alignment with The Raw Carrot’s mission is a genuine occupational requirement.
  • Transportation: Access to a car for travel to sites.
     

SALARY  

  • $28-32/hour (commensurate with experience/skills/education) plus cell stipend  
  • Mileage provided
