Over the past year, The Raw Carrot has seen a growing groundswell of interest from communities across Canada asking the same question: Could this work here?  Church leaders, parents, nonprofit directors, and community developers have reached out in growing numbers, eager to understand how The Raw Carrot’s social enterprise model of creating dignified employment for people who face barriers to work, might be replicated in their own communities.

“We receive weekly inquiries from people who are looking for meaningful, accessible work, as well as from leaders asking how they can bring this model to their region,” says Rebecca Sherbino, Executive Director of The Raw Carrot. “The demand is real, and the momentum is building.”

Over the past year, The Raw Carrot has successfully launched two new sites, with additional locations in development. With the support of generous donors and partners, the organization has been able to refine a scalable social enterprise model, train partner organizations, and demonstrate that dignified employment is possible for people often left behind by the traditional workforce.

Now, The Raw Carrot is taking the next step by empowering more communities to join this mission across Canada.

To support this growing interest, The Raw Carrot is hosting a free webinar for anyone curious about launching a Raw Carrot social enterprise in their community.

What Participants Will Learn

  • How Raw Carrot kitchens operate, including finances, staffing, production, and sales
  • What it realistically takes to launch, including timelines, partnerships, and resources
  • How churches, nonprofits, and local businesses collaborate in the model
  • Real stories and outcomes from communities already operating Raw Carrot sites
  • What next steps could look like for those exploring a launch in their region

The webinar is designed for both those actively considering a launch and those simply curious about what’s possible. There is no obligation, just an open, honest conversation about community-led solutions to unemployment.  “This is about more than expansion,” says Sherbino. “It’s about equipping communities to create meaningful, dignified work where it’s needed most.”
